All Apple devices from iPhone 5 and iPad Air running iOS 9 onwards provide a good all-round Meka experience. Newer devices running iOS 11 onwards will provide increasing degrees of framerate and AR tracking performance. Of note: tracking performance on iPads is not quite as good as that on iPhones, due to lower camera image quality.
For MekaMon connectivity, control, and Battle gameplay, all devices with Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Smart) running Android 4.4 (KitKat) onwards are supported.
For Augmented Reality (AR) gameplay, performance is quite specific to your device, although, generally, the newer the better. We define three levels of performance:
High: Devices running Exynos 8895 (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S8) or newer, or Snapdragon 835 (e.g. Google Pixel 2, HTC U11) or newer, will provide a good AR experience.
Low: Devices running Snapdragon 800 onwards (e.g. LG Nexus 5), will provide an AR experience. It will function, though game framerates may be noticeably low, and tracking may be noticeably high in latency.
Problematic: Devices running the Snapdragon 808 and 810 chipsets (e.g. Huawei Nexus 6P, LG Nexus 5X, OnePlus 2, LG G4) suffer from an architectural issue which results in quite serious performance issues with AR. Your mileage may vary, but we cannot guarantee a certain level of performance at this time. We’re actively working to resolve this issue.
